December 25, 2016
Well this week was soooo busy. A lot happened and it was
really hard work, but I enjoyed every minute and had lots of fun.
On Monday we went to the mission president's house for a Christmas celebration. We watched a slide show, had dinner and desert and
played pictionary and talked about our favorite Christmas memories. It was fun
and almost felt like home.
Then on pday we went to a Korean spa. It was very odd....
lots of naked men and it was a little awkward. but super relaxing! The whole
time I was just thinking "I'm might bring my dad and brothers to this,
that would be weird..." but it was fun. Then we went bowling after
wards. We played 5 on 5 and my team one. My last frame I came back and won it
for us by 6 points. Haha and freaking Elder Juke bowled 6 strikes in a row. The
whole alley was watching is 7th bowl and he got a gutter ball. It was so
funny.
Then that night we had a meal with a member. It was very
hard. In Korea you have to eat it all if a member buys it for you. It was squid, mussels and noodles in a super SUPER spicy broth. I thought I was going to die. But I prayed really hard that I would be able to get it down and Heavenly
Father helped me so much! To the point I actually enjoyed it and would have it again. If you know me you would know how much of a miracle that is.
Then the end of the week was very busy. I had to get my
foreigner card so I don't get deported and it was a long day. Me and elder 류
fell asleep on each other on the subway and almost missed our stop! It was
exhausting because we had to take a 2 hour subway to get there and we has to
walk about an hour. But I get to stay so that is good.
Then we had a Christmas party. We had to perform and it was
so bad. We thought it was hilarious. But no one laughed. Only a few people came
up and told us it was super funny. But there was some awesome talent and it was
a fun night.
Three miracles that happened this week. The first is when we
were sticker boarding I saw a youngish man trying to sneak past us. I ran
over to him and got him to come over and stick a sticker. I then talked to him
for a couple minutes about peace and happiness in this life. He said he wanted
to meet and I got his phone number.
The second was today on the subway this grandma came up to
me and asked if I was a Mormon missionary. I said yes and she said good me
and a bunch of my friends want to learn about your church can we meet? I
said of course and I got her number.
Then Elder Young and Perry met someone on the subway, got
his number and met with him all in the same day. The next day he came to the
ward Christmas party. He stayed for an hour and helped clean up. He brought us elder gifts and wants to meet like every day.
From all three experiences I learn that people are prepared. God is working in peoples live so that we can help and teach them. These people may not even know or recognize, but God is helping and working in everyone's life.
I learned a lot this week about prayer. I know God answers our pray. He want's to hear from us and he wants to help us more than anything. He loves us and if we have faith he will always answer and help us. It may not be in the way we think or want, but he will. I know that.
I hope you all have a merry Christmas and a great week!
Elder Goon
