Week 17

February 5, 2017

Hello everyone!

I don't have much time this week but I want to talk about a few things that I have learned this week!

First a little about my week. On pday we went and played basketball at the church. I hate basketball so I played catch with Elder Fehoko. He was ranked 5th in the nation for football  and was given a full ride to every school in the nation. He was going to pick Alabama but the education he would get there isn't very good so he is going to Stanford after his mission. He was really good. Then I also played a ton of ping pong. Me and Elder Lam from the MTC destroyed everyone! I guess it's because our team had the most Chinese blood! haha

Then the rest of this week we got new missionaries so it was busy picking them up and getting them unpacked and moved in. Also this week I got pretty sick because of stress and lack of sleep. So I was required to take naps... so not much missionary work happened.

On Saturday we spent all day shoveling snow in our church parking lot. It was super thick and dangerouse and we didn't want our members to slip and fall . It took about 8 hours and we were so exhausted, but it was worth it!

Also this Sunday I translated Sacrament Meeting! We have about 6 Americans in our ward that need translation! It was testimony meeting too haha and it was really hard but really fun and Elder Young told me he doesn't understand why I knew the words they were saying and this young of an age! I definitly know that God is helping me and blessing me to learn this language! Every time I understand Korean or open my mouth to speak it is all because of God!

Now for the things I learned this week.

Life sucks. It is so hard! I was thinking a lot this week and if God loves us so much why does he make our lives so difficult?! I was especially thinking that this week because I have been struggling with a lot of things. But I learned why life sucks sometimes. If life was perfect and God gave us everything we ever wanted we would learn nothing. We would never want to change and be better and learn and progress. God teached us through hard times. He has been teaching me a lot lately.

Also I learned that God is real. He is there. Even when we don't feel him, think it, or want to accept the fact that He is there. But He is. I know that more than anything! I have been praying harder than ever in the last few days, and it has been amazing! I have heard God talking to me. Felt Him in the room. My heart has been comforted and softened. I know and promise that if you sincerely want to know God give Him a chance. Be patient with Him and trust him. He loves you.

I love you guys and am grateful for your support!
Have a great week!
Elder Goon
P.S. GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
