Week 55

October 29, 2017

This week was super super good week. Not going to lie super hard, but also a very rewarding productive week!

Sorry for the short email last week but nothing really happened.

So this week we had a super fun Pday. The zone came down and we played ultimate Frisbee! I have really started to enjoy the sport even though I am really really REALLY bad at it! I got to see one of my best mission friends, Elder Miller, so that is always awesome!  That night me and Elder Perry had to do a language evaluation for the sisters in our district. As they did that \I was able to review General Conference for a while and it was super super awesome! Conference is so special and I know if we study our LIVING prophets words just as much as our dead ones, we will be blessed!

Tuesday was a fun day. We had a meal with some of the American members, the Aston family! They were awesome and sure made us feel at home! I truly love being with members and is the part of missionary work I find the most joy in by far! We shared a great message on prayer and something Sister Aston said really struck me. She said with prayer and other things "if it is easy to make excuses it must really be important!"
That is so true. Sometimes the most important things that we find reasons not to do them, are the most important.

Wednesday was a super super long day. We basically spent the whole day in the church doing language evaluations for the new district missionaries and had district meeting and English class. pretty boring day

Thursday was awesome! We met with our investigator that was scheduled to be baptized. He couldn't meet for a while so we pushed it back and he is still excited about it! He asked a great simple question. He asked what is the meaning of baptism. We explained all the blessings but the specific one I wanted to testify about was becoming a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I don't remember my baptism, but I do know that every good thing in my life has come from my baptism. Every blessing I have ever received came from my baptism. My life has been changed because I am a member of this church. It is the most important decision I ever made.

Friday, We did weekly planning then met with these two friends, John and Sky. They are SUPER rich and super fun. They are both in their 50's, but are so immature and act like high school best friends! I was reminded of some very good advice Brother, I mean Bishop Van gave me. He said "you are never too old to be immature" haha I'll remember that.

Saturday we had a Halloween party! It was a lot of fun and really felt like home having that again. Also we had lunch with Elder Perry's trainer who was back visiting. He was cool and you could just tell he was a good man because of his mission.

And yesterday, just like every Sunday in my area was long. 8 hours of meeting and dinner and personal study! Super fun...

But this week we got smart phones! We are going to try to use technology to advance missionary work! Should be fun... but it wont be as sweet to get a smart phone when I get home because I have used one for a year... oh whale

I hope you all have a great week! We just met with an investigator before this and we talked about our relationship with God. He believed in God, but didn't know their relationship.
I am grateful to know that God is my father. He loves me. I am His child and He wants nothing but my happiness. knowing that is a blessing.

Week 54

October 22, 2017

So I had no time this week... but to highlight this week we got to meet with 5 new people and as soon as we grab the next appointment they will be new investigators and I am so excited! They all seemed very genuine good guys!  5 new people called for a busy week which is always good!
Other wise we have been having trouble with our two investigators that had baptismal dates. That hurts my heart. But we keep pushing along!

Hope you have a fantastic week!!! See you all soon!

Week 53

October 15, 2017

This week was so cool!!!! My new companion is so so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but he is a nonathletic nerd. So that blows....

But he actually is the best athlete in our mission and we are going to play volleyball today!! so excited!!!!

So this week was pretty hectic!
On Pday we went to the Han river and rode bikes up and down the river it was super duper super fun! Had a good time and a lot of my mission friends came and it was good to see them all! It is definitely a must do if you come to Korea!

Tuesday was a busy day spent packing and getting moved and teaching Korean class. But Tuesday night we had a final meal together by the base and we had American burgers!!! It has been a year and I miss them so so much!!!! It is sad to say goodbye to every one.

Wednesday we got our new companion and it was fun! We had a really new greenie that was fresh off the plane! We brought him into the world right with Ne Ne chicken!!!!

Thursday and Friday we had a lot of time on the streets and planning! and Saturday as well! It was kind of a long boring week. But we have a good vision for our area and have been doing good things! I am excited!

Sunday we spent 12 hours with the members which is always really fun! I have a strong love for them!

Monday night we met with our investigator and a member. It was going good. But we found out he has a really big need... at the end of the lesson he told us he doesn't know if God can answer his prayer and if God loves him. Then he asked where is Gods love in the world with all the tragedies in the world like Vegas and Texas and Florida and Mexico and so many other places.

I was thinking about this. And I beg all of us to not fall into this trap!
JUST BECAUSE LIFE IS HARD DOESN'T MEAN GOD DOESN'T LOVE US!
Jesus Christ, the best there ever was and will be, had the hardest life, suffered the most pain, spiritual and physical. Felt the most alone and walked the hardest road.

WE WOULD NEVER SAY GOD DOESN'T LOVE CHRIST. So never tell yourself God doesn't love you because you have a trail, or there is hardness in the world. Never tell yourself God doesn't love you. He does. He is perfect!

I love you have a good week!
